The Green Bay Packers are set to extend their three-game winning streak since their 19-23 loss against the Pittsburgh Steelers as they face the New York Giants next Tuesday.
While New York is struggling to maintain its two-game winning streak, Green Bay is currently sitting at the seventh and final NFC postseason spot as Week 14 kicks off.
“As soon as you start feeling yourself and feeling like you’ve arrived, this league has a way of knocking you out. The bottom line is we’re a .500 football team,” said Packers coach Matt LaFleur.
Packers quarterback Jordan Love has ed eight touchdowns in the Packers’ recent win streak with a 285.7 yards average. He filled in the void left by Aaron Rodgers after the 40-year-old left for the New York Jets.
Despite a promising quarterback comeback by Love after Rodgers left, Green Bay still has many things to do to keep their momentum after their previous losses due to 11 combined points.
“I’m not going to sit here and tell you the whole time I thought we were the greatest team in the world, but I thought we should’ve won a lot of football games that we lost during that time period, for sure,” said center Josh Myers.
Packers cornerback Jaire Alexander, along with Rashan Gary, Elgton Jenkins and Quay Walker, was limited during Thursday’s practice due to shoulder injuries.
In an interview, Jenkins expressed optimism about returning soon after his knee injury in Week 2. Meanwhile, Walker, recovering from a knee injury sustained in the October 9 game against the Las Vegas Raiders, did not participate in Thursday’s practice but is not expected to face prolonged absence.
Linebacker De’Vondre Campbell was limited due to a neck injury, followed by AJ Dillon (groin), Aaron Jones (knee), Jonathan Owens (knee), Jayden Reed (chest), and Devonte Wyatt (elbow).
Cornerback Eric Stokes returned as a full participant in Thursday’s practice. Stokes entered injured reserve on October 25 due to a hamstring injury. Tight-end Josiah Deguara also became a full participant after recovering from an injury in Week 11, while cornerback Keisean Nixon fully participated despite a wrist injury.
