On Monday, Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes was spotted at Disneyland with his wife and two children after rallying his team to a 38-35 triumph over the Philadelphia Eagles to win Super Bowl LVII.
A decade ago, Mahomes wrote on social media that he would fly out to Disney World should he win the Super Bowl.
“I bet it feels amazing to be the quarterback who says, ‘I’m going to Disney World’ after winning the Super Bowl,” the then 17-year-old Mahomes said back on February 6, 2013.
Mahomes then fulfilled his dream seven years later, right after his first Super Bowl win in 2020. Meanwhile, to celebrate this season’s Super Bowl victory, he visited Disneyland, and this time, he got some company.
“Luckily, I’m going to Disneyland now, so I have Disney World and Disneyland crossed off,” Mahomes said after the victory, adding that he expected more Super Bowl victories. “They’ll have to make some more parks so I can go around everywhere and do a world tour.”
Ten years after his 2013 tweet, Mahomes posted on Instagram a photo of him with his wife, Brittany, and their daughter and two-month-old son, Sterling and Bronze, visiting California’s most well-known theme park.
Posing in front of Sleeping Beauty’s Castle in a t post, Mahomes and Brittany caption the photo, “Welcome to the happiest place on earth, Bronze and Sterling!”
The post came after Mahomes led the Chiefs to another comeback victory, with the Chiefs trailing by 10 points at halftime. He had a 21-of-27 ing performance for 182 yards and three touchdowns without an interception on Sunday in Glendale, Arizona.
Aside from an 18-yard touchdown reception by tight end Travis Kelce on the Chiefs’ opening play, Kansas City also had a fumble return touchdown in the first half. Mahomes threw two more touchdown es to Kadarius Toney and Skyy Moore in the second half.
Mahomes has now been named Super Bowl MVP two times. The star player is the sixth player in history to win the Super Bowl MVP award more than once and the second-youngest at 27 years and 148 days old, behind only Tom Brady, who won the Super Bowl XXXVIII MVP award at the age of 26 years and 182 days.
Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts displayed an outstanding performance to keep up with Mahomes’ MVP-worthy performance. He threw for 304 yards on a 27-of-38 completion rate for a touchdown to A. J. Brown. The 24-year-old quarterback also ran for 70 yards, racking up three rushing touchdowns on 15 carries.
